Persevering Through Tragedy

No florists ever want to find themselves having to deal with the loss of their shop, but unfortunately, that’s what happened recently to one Flower Shop Network Member florist. Aut and Connie Fuller, owners of Floral Expressions in Owings, Maryland learned that their storefront burned to the ground after a driver that was under the influence ran off the road.

“It was about 2 a.m. when I received the call from the county emergency system saying there was an accident in the parking lot involving smoke,” Fuller said. “On the way to the shop my wife actually saw a picture of our building burning on Facebook, and that’s when we knew it was going to be bad. One Rose

One rose means love at first sight. If you’re looking for a way to show someone your feelings this Valentine’s Day use a single rose to hint at your affections.

Two roses stand for love and admiration. Old superstitions say that if the two roses are intertwined to form a single stem it can often be a sign of a of a future engagement or marriage.

Three roses stand for the three little words, “I love you.” Giving three roses is the perfect way for you to tell someone you love them for the first time! What a beautiful way to express your love.

4 Tips When Sending Him Flowers

Should you send him flowers for Valentine’s Day? Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. What are you getting for the special man in your life? Why not flowers?

Traditionally, flowers were considered a gift for women, but times are changing. With such a variety of options available, you just have to find the right fit for your man. There are a few things to keep in mind when selecting flowers for men:

1. When selecting colors think vibrant and high-energy, or green and natural, instead of pastels and pinks.

2. When choosing a style, opt for an arrangement that looks a bit more edgy, like modern art, for the contemporary man. Is he a nature lover? Select a more natural and earthy arrangement. Find a style that suits his personality.

3. Does he have a hobby or special interest? Ask your florist about ways to incorporate that into the arrangement.

4. Still not sure your guy would enjoy flowers? Consider a plant. Something that can add a little nature to his work space. Let him know that having plants in the office is good for the air quality, and that you want to improve the quality of his life, because he improves the quality of yours.

If you carefully select an arrangement with him in mind, he will feel the same way you do when he sends you flowers – special and loved.
