5 Reasons to Send Flowers December ’16

December marks one of the busiest times of the year. People are frantically searching for the perfect gift and families are finalizing their holiday plans. No matter what holiday you are celebrating, there are plenty of reasons to send flowers this month!

1. Poinsettia Day – December 12th

The Poinsettia was discovered in Southern Mexico by botanist Joel Roberts Poinsett. This day commemorates his death and celebrates his discovery. The scarlet, star-shaped leaves are a known symbol of the holidays. Legend tells of a girl who was worried and sad because she didn’t have a gift to celebrate Jesus. An angel appeared and told the girl to give any gift of love. The young girl gathered weeds and placed them in a manger. Miraculously the weeds turned into red stars. Call your local florist and send a beautiful poinsettia to commemorate this day!

2. Hanukkah – December 24th – January 1st

Share the joy of Hanukkah by sending traditional flowers and baskets to your loved ones. Blue and white is a classic color combination for Hanukkah. The holiday is a celebration of the Jewish festival of lights and these colors are symbolic of soft winter lights. Whether you send one big beautiful bouquet or small arrangements for each day, your gift will be creating a lasting memory.
