		<description>Gail,

A peace lily can be split. However, the foliage on the newly divided plants will go into shock and make look bad for some time. To divide the peace lily take a serrated knife and cut from the bottom to the top -- this will insure that the roots will support the foliage. Repot as you normally would. It is also a good idea to use a little vitamin b1 (this can be found at your local garden center or nursery). During this time of regrown keep the plant evenly moist -- any additional stress to the plant will be detrimental.
