Rock A Bye Baby: Top New Baby Card Messages

Friday, July 17th, 2009

My best friend recently had a baby. My brother and sister in law are about to welcome a son also. It's hard to stop the maternal inclination that comes from being around wonderful women like this. It's also hard to plan a baby shower without thinking about new baby gifts. Of course, it's easy to opt for the cute gifts with the "ooo" and "awww" factor. It's just as easy to be practical and get Mommy gifts that she'll need when little baby arrives. However, the best new baby gift is the one that isn't about the baby at all-it's about mommy.

Celebrating the birth of a child, just like with every other occasion, flowers are a great gift for making the woman feel special. Friends of the daddy? Send flowers and you'll be in momma's good graces also! The part that most people get stuck on is the card message. It can be difficult to put sentiments into words with new baby card messages. For those of us rather handicapped in regard to this particular ability, the following list makes it easy to say congratulations. Local florists have spoken. Here's what their top 10 new baby card messages have to say.

Fathers Day Card Messages For The World's Best Dad

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I absolutely adore my dad. My daddy is the coolest guy in the world (to me at least) but I have trouble telling him exactly how I feel about him. I could chock it up to sharing his non-touchy-feely-emotional personality, but it still amounts to the same thing-what do I say?!?!

My friends had suggested getting my dad some Fathers Day flowers and putting a sweet message on the enclosure card. Daddy loves contemporary arrangements but more than anything he likes knowing that his "little girl" will always be his "baby." Not to go into too much sappy sentiment about my father, I've decided to definitely send flowers. Now the predicament becomes figuring out what to put on the card. For this reason I asked local florists what they thought were the best Fathers Day card messages that they've seen. The results were heartwarming.

When sending Fathers Days flowers, local florists have found that the best enclosure card messages are those from the heart. In the interest of sharing-because that's what Daddy taught me-I've included their top choices below. Feel free to share or add your own!

Florists Choice:  Top Fathers Day Card Messages For Dear Ole Dad

4)       Thanks for being there when I need you the most and even when I didn't.

5)       Thank you for being a good father and a good friend.

6)       Forever your daddy's girl. Happy Father's Day.

7)       My hero, my helper, my friend, my dad. Happy Father's Day.

8)       My strength and my friend, I am today what I have become because of you. Thanks, Dad.

Don't Forget The Enclosure Card Message!

Monday, May 18th, 2009

While most people remember to include an enclosure card message with fresh flowers, some do not. Working at Flower Shop Network, I hear tons of card messages, reasons why that message was chosen, and reasons why no message was sent at all. I tend to frown on the "no message at all" senders because there are too many good reasons why one should be included. Here are some reasons why it's a great idea to include a card:

  1. Enclosure cards let the recipient know whom to thank for the gift.
  2. Enclosure card messages help express a sentiment that may not otherwise be comfortably conveyed.
  3. Peer pressure. Everyone else is doing it. You should too.

While I figure reason #3 is the best, I don't expect it to resonate quite as well as the others. To put it simply, enclosure cards help express the feelings that flowers bring. Expressing sympathy by sending flowers? Condolence enclosure card messages relieve the burden of saying "I'm sorry for your loss" to a crying friend but still get the message of support across. Celebrating a birthday with a birthday bouquet? Nothing's better than cake but when cake fails, a "happy birthday to my favorite friend" enclosure card will come very close.

This is not your traditional flower sending tip, but including enclosure card messages with fresh flowers is definitely something that no one should overlook.

Secretaries come in many shapes and sizes and go by just as many names. You Can Now Have Valentines Day Flowers With A Great Message

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Flowers sent on Valentine's Day should express the feelings of the sender. Did you know that the Victorian Era gave each flower a special meaning? Florists can creatively arrange a bouquet of flowers using these meanings in order to convey a special message. But that's only good if the flowers are delivered to someone who understands the flower meaning of each flower in the bouquet. What's tricky is that flowers can have more than one meaning (sometimes a positive one and a negative one). If the person sending flowers has a different perspective than the person who receives the flower arrangement, interpretation becomes a risky proposition. It is of utmost importance that the message is not lost in the translation. That's where florists come to the rescue.

Local florists understand this predicament and are willing to help. Every flower arrangement, delivered by a florist, includes an enclosure card that states who sent the flowers along with flower delivery information. But enclosures cards are more than that; they give you the opportunity to send a special message to the recipient. Since we are not all blessed with a poetic voice or even the gift of gab, I asked several florists what they thought were good Valentines Day Card Messages.

Florists Voted These As The Top 40 Valentines Day Cards Messages:

  • A message for my Sweetheart. Everyday with you is Valentine's Day for me. I Love You.
