I believe you have some type of anthurium.  This is used both as a houseplant and the blooms are used as cut flowers for floral arrangements.  Sometimes this flower is called Flamingo flower.  I have a previous post about &lt;a href="http://www.flowershopnetwork.com/blog/proper-care-for-an-anthurium-flamingo-flower" title="caring for flamingo flower" rel="nofollow"&gt;caring for anthurium&lt;/a&gt;.  The post has a picture of the bloom when it is fully open.  Yours is in a very early stage of blooming.  The bloom will actually unfold into a wide heart shaped flower.</description>
