Chocolate Brown and Baby Blue Flowers For September Wedding.

We live in the high desert in CA, the wedding is in September, the colors are baby blue and chocolate brown. What flowers would you suggest? We are on a limited budget. I was even thinking of just going with white roses with a “splash” of blue for the for bride and an assortment for bridesmaids. What is a good flower that is blue? Kim

There are several flowers which are considered blue. However most tend to be more toward the purple scale than the baby blue scale. I am listing the flower that I know are considered blue. available in September and relatively cost efficient.
Blue flowers are Agapathus, blue lace flower (Didiscus), Asters, Brodeiaea, Delphinum, Echinops, Iris, Lavender, Scabiosia, Veronica, larkspur, Nigella, Trachelium, Tweedia. Be sure to express to your local florist that you want sky blue or baby blue flowers. Your florists will be able to narrow you choices to the varieties that are truly baby blue instead of what is called blue.
I would recommend using Delphinium, Larkspur or Nigella for the blue and incorporate a chocolate brown ribbon in the bouquet to achieve your wedding color theme. I would use white rose in the bridal bouquet and white daisies in the bridesmaid bouquets. Your local florist will probably have several wonderful suggestion as well. The important thing is to convey the fact that you want baby blue flowers. Together you and your florist should be able to come up with wedding flowers that follow your color theme and your budget.
