Christmas in July

I know, summer began just a few weeks ago and here we are talking about Christmas. But, honestly, who doesn’t look forward to this season? It’s the most wonderful time of the year! On a serious note though, this year’s trends are definitely something to look out for! Here’s a little bit of what you can expect to see this Christmas season!

COLORSOne of the themes we can expect to see a lot is what’s called Hanami. This theme consists of deep maroons and burgundies, as well as reds, fuchsias, dark greens and blues. The stunning colors, when in combination with gold and other metallic hues, create elegant decorations and floral pieces.

FLOWERSThere’s a lot that flowers bring to the table when it comes to decorations. They are not just beautiful, but also add freshness and warmth to any room or space.

Poinsettias – This stunning plant is a Christmas classic! You can expect to see this red Aztec flower take the place of regular blooms in dining and coffee tables. You can get them in pink and white too!

Carnations – Red and white carnations are the perfect addition to flower arrangements and centerpieces! This gorgeous blooms can be used to create different shapes and is definitely something that your local florist can help out with! Make sure to let them know ahead of time, as this type of intricate flower design may take longer to complete.

Roses – Just as poinsettias are classic to Christmas, roses are classic to everyday flowers! These beauties can enhance the look of any arrangement or centerpiece by adding sophistication, warmth and elegance.

To give you a little back story, the Christmas in July tradition began in Brevard, NC the year 1933. People often celebrate by opening presents and having a good time with family and friends. This is the perfect time to enjoy all the holiday festivities with a little more freedom since it is usually very cold in some places.
