Name This Split Leaf Plant

Ask the Expert: What kind of plant is this?
I have been trying to figure this out forever. A friend thinks it is some kind of fern but I can't find any pictures of it?
I was hoping maybe you guys could help? Matthew

    Matthew,

    The plant you have is a Xanadu Philodendron (Philodendron x 'Xanadu'). This is one of many Philodendrons. It can only grow outside in south Florida but it makes a great houseplant.

    Please can someone tell me what plant this is? My mum and dad planted it and don't know what it is – could have been some sort of stone that they planted. Many thanks

    Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I have been researching the plant. I think it is something in the Acanthaceae family, but I can't pin it down. Where did your parents get the plant – at a nursery garden center, from a botanical garden ….

    Has it ever had a bloom?
