    Frank,

    I believe those are Fuchsia blooms. I'm not sure which cultivar but I'm sure it is a Fuchsia hybrid.

    The blooms should open into a fuller flower.

    I have one in my garden. It's Crinodendron hookerianum (Chinese lantern tree)

    Thank you so much for your identification. I stand corrected. Crinodendron hookerianum is a new plant to me but I looked it up and it does appear to be what Frank's photo is. In fact I went to the Royal Horticultural Society and found that it was their 2005 May plant of the month. I also found out that is is sometimes called Chile Lantern Tree.

    id have gone with fuscia too untill someone mentioned otherwise. that picture looks it but they are right its too woody to be a fuschia
