Thank you so much for your identification.  I stand corrected.  Crinodendron hookerianum is a new plant to me but I looked it up and it does appear to be what Frank's photo is.  In fact I went to the &lt;a href="http://www.rhs.org.uk/whatson/gardens/rosemoor/archive/rosemoorpom05may.asp" rel="nofollow"&gt;Royal Horticultural Society&lt;/a&gt; and found that it was their 2005 May plant of the month.  I also found out that is is sometimes called Chile Lantern Tree.

I believe those are Fuchsia blooms.  I'm not sure which cultivar but I'm sure it is a Fuchsia hybrid.

The blooms should open into a fuller flower.</description>
