Without a picture, my first thought would be either &lt;a href="http://www.plantpress.com/plant-encyclopedia/plantdb.php?plant=12157" rel="nofollow"&gt;Heuchera (Coral Bells)&lt;/a&gt; or Heucherella tiarelliodes.  Both of these are excellent perennials.  Although they can have red, pink or white blooms, I use them for their outstanding foliage.  

If you could send a picture of the plant, I could positively identify it.</description>
