We're planning a big reception for May 9th in Sacramento. I'm new to this area. I know there will be lots in season, but I don't know what! What will I find locally for bouquets at that time of year?

According to the California Cut Flower Commission there are 418 flowers and types of greenery that are available during May. I will give you the top flowers that will be easy to find in Sacramento during May: Agapanthus, Alstroemeria, Iris, Calla Lily, Carnation, Celosia, Dahlia, Eucalyptus, Gardenia, Gerbera, Peony, Roses, Rosemary, Snapdragon, Wax Flower. However the best way to find what will be in season is to talk one of the talented florists in Sacramento. With today's global market cut flower availability no longer adhere to a seasonal constraint per say. Prices depend more on demand rather than on what is seasonal.
