What to do with my peace lily.

April 24th, 2007 | By: Jamie Jamison Adams

Ask the Expert

My husband and I recentley aquired a peace lilie follwing a funeral. Therefore there were no instructions and it is already quite large. I planted it outside and now I am a bit concerned that they are house plants only. Please help! It is very sentimental and was hoping someone could let me know if it can survive outside?

    Amye,

Peace lilies are typically a house plant. These plants should be kept evenly moist and in medium light levels. They do not like to have bright light shining down on top of them. I would recommend transplanting it into a nice decorative pot and keeping it indoors. FlowerShopNetwork has a wonderful newsletter called Caring for Peace Lily Plants. To read it go to the Newsletter above, you will find it in March 2003.
