Why Are Succulent Leaves Turning Yellow
Ask the Expert:succulent leaves dropping and turning yellow Worried for my succulent plant.
Bought it about 2 weeks ago, it looked healthy and green then. Leaves are turning yellow and dropping.
I have it facing South East, 4-6 hours of sun. Water 1-2 weekly. Please help. Leei-Hong Chen
Flower Shop Network Plant Expert Reply: Most likely your plant is too wet.Â Succulents are native to areas that receive little rainfall therefore they prefer to dry out between watering.
Do make sureÂ the pot has drain holes and is not sitting in a saucer full of water.Â Use a well drained media such as succulent / cactus soilÂ if repotting.
In addition make sure the plant is in an area with sunlight,Â it doesn't have to be directly in front of a window, but in close proximity.Â I believe you will see a turnaround in a few weeks once you adjust your watering habits.
