It's always appropriate to express our thanks to those who help us, but when there is a specific holiday set aside to show our appreciation, all the better. Administrative professionals and secretaries are the backbone of many businesses and organizations. Small business owners, non-profit organizations, churches and large businesses alike could not function successfully without those whose job it is to handle all the details and do so in a professional and courteous manner. So, on April 21st, 2010, we have a prime opportunity to show how much we appreciate those administrative assistants and secretaries who serve us so well.

Many bosses go all out with a limo ride to lunch and a paid day off. Some give a day off with a gift card from the local mall. These expressions of thanks are very nice in and of themselves, but what really means the most is a verbal or written "thank you" for all they do. Everyone likes to be appreciated for their hard work and dependability. Why not put your thoughts down in a card attached to a beautiful bouquet of flowers? The words will communicate your sincere thanks and the flowers will brighten his/her day for  many days to come.  You don't have to spend a fortune to say thanks. Just do so with sincerity and something that shows them how critical they are to your success.

Saying thanks always has positive results. It helps bosses recognize those who help them succeed, and it helps the receiver know they are needed and appreciated, resulting in their commitment to do an even better job.
