Flowers That Represent A Zodiac Sign

Ask the Expert: What flower represents the zodiac sign capricorn?
I’m trying to find out if there’s specific flowers that represent each zodiac sign.  For example, there’s flowers that represent each birth month, so I’m trying to figure out if there’s specific flowers for the astrology signs.  Jenn

  1. Jenn,

There are flowers that are associated with astrological sign and are some times referred to as zodiac flowers. Around the 20th of each month, the Bloomin’ Blog discusses the zodiac flower for the current sign. Of course Capricorn is the zodiac sign for December 22 – January 20, so instead of making you wait I’ll tell you what the flowers are for Capricorns.

The zodiac flowers for Capricorns are Chrysanthemum Poinsettia, mixed plants, jasmine, lily, Statice, holly, African violet, ivy, philodendron, snowdrop.
It looks like a long list and it is. Depending on who you talk to all of these flowers can represent the astrological sign of Capricorn. Just a little FYI, my niece who is ten and a Capricorn (January 10th) loves African violets for her birthday and my father (January 13th) loves to receive a new philodendron plant or dish garden every year for his birthday.

thank you so much for getting back to me. I was researching the zodiac flowers because I wanted to get a tattoo in memory of my mom and i wanted something pretty and “girlie” and that had meaning. I kept finding several flowers that represented each zodiac like the information you gave me so I was a little hesitant. Again, thank you for your help….it’s greatly appreciated!

  3. I’m not sure if you have gotten your tattoo yet but a lily would be pretty. If the tattoo artist needs a picture of one let me know.

  6. Hello, my name is Jasmine. I wanted to get a collar bone tattoo and I am an aries, so I decided my birth flower would be an elegant idea however, thistle and honeysuckle aren’t really flowers I’d like to use for this tattoo. I have seen multiple aries tattoos combined with sweet peas flowers and red roses. Please let me know what tattoo you think would be best suited for this besides honeysuckle. I want the flowers to be on a vine and blooming if that helps at all with what flower you think would be best. Also, if I wanted to get a tattoo for my mother, she is a gemini and I know that one of the flowers is lavendar but she didn’t really like lavandar much, ironically enough, What other flower could I use to represent a true gemini? I look forward to your response, thank you :)

  7. Jasmine,

You have many Aries tattoo options. Red roses, tulips, amaryllis flowers (even red peppers) are also associated with this Zodiac sign. I think a beautiful vine with red roses blooming would be unique and intricate. You could always give your tattoo artist a few examples of what you like and see if they have any suggestions. For a Gemini, lavender and lily of the valley are two common flowers associated. Hope this helps! Good luck finding the perfect tattoo.
