  1. Drew,

I believe you have a Kalanchoe daigremontiana (Bryophyluum daigremontaina) commonly known as Mother of Thousands. It was introduced to the southern tip of Florida from Madagascar. It is a succulent that can produce bell shaped pink blooms. It has many names some of which are devil’s backbone, alligator plant and Mexican hat plant.

As for soil pick up a succulent or cactus soil at your local garden center or nursery. Water it regularly but don’t over water it. Give it a fair amount of light. Frost will kill this plant, so move it indoors during the winter. Good luck and please keep me posted.

  2. Thanks for helping me identify this plant i will get it in the right soil Wednesday and all that good stuff, i will post more pictures once there is some change in size, bloom, etc…

    Once again thanks,

    Drew Kilkenny
