This is an open seed pod from a Euonymus americanus. It is commonly called a Strawberry Bush. The seed pods first appear in mid-summer and open in the mid-autumn when they can spill forth up to 15ft from the shrub.
Flower Shop Network’s local flower shops are happy to bring you seed pod identifications like this one.
I have been looking for the name of this shrub for years..As a child while living in New Jersey, we had a long drive with a hedgerow on one side and a field of wild flowers on the other…I can remember this shrub and its brilliant green stems and bright flower pods, and I remember thinking they looked like a turks turban..Never knew the name…Now if I can find the seed…I will be happy….
I have just this week found this plant – I have seeds– Didn’t know what I had — have looked for days
I have been trying to ID one of these plants for a while. Thanks
