Paleness and lack of growth usually indicate lack of nutrients and insufficient light. I would begin by changing the water – use distilled water if possible. Wipe the lucky bamboo stalk off with a damp cloth before placing them back in the container. Move the container a little closer to your light source — not too close. After about a week take a very diluted solution of plant fertilizer and add it to the water. Then change your water every couple of weeks and fertilize every couple of months. Your should see improvements in your lucky bamboo in a couple of weeks.

Although Dracaena do form seed, most lucky bamboo is propagated vegetatively through cuttings.
