Forgot What The September Birth Month Flower Is?

Fret not, dear blog reader. I have your answer.

The September birth month flowers are the aster and the morning glory. Oh yeah, beautiful and meaningful. Good stuff. If you were a reader last year you may remember “Mark September With An Aster-isk”, our friendly reminder blog about the birth month flower of September. You may also remember that September can be quite a headache for my family! With three birthdays on the same day stuff gets really crazy toward the middle of the month.

Mom is great. She’s one of my favorite people in the whole world and I’d be lost without her. That’s a great (and true) sentiment for the card, but you can’t really package that. Oh wait, yes you can! It may not come in a box but a birthday bouquet with aster is a package that she’ll be happy to receive! I’m thinking that showing it off to her friends at work will be fun for her given the type of women she works with. If I can make her day better, why not? So this year I’m sending Mom the gift that she loved last year — asters.

Now the other Virgo in my life is a bit harder. I tend to stop by game stores a lot when shopping for him but I’m pretty tired of staring at electronics. By the time I muster up the courage to go shopping, the last place I want to be is somewhere that will take a lot of time. Plus, I can never remember which games he has so I get a gift card. It’s a little impersonal (or so he said last year) so I don’t want to repeat that experience.

My Love may be brutally honest but he has a point so I’m sending him aster flowers instead. It’s kind of payback for the comment about the gift card. Plus, his daughter loves playing with flowers and dirt and bugs and grass so we’ll have a lot of fun planting morning glory in the backyard. This may not be the ideal way to send birth month flowers of September. Given that not everyone lives in a fairytale world of romance and lollipops, I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds this a funny alternative.

I won’t keep you guessing. The July birth month flower is the larkspur. Of course, regular readers probably remember this from last year’s July Birth Month Flower blog. For those who haven’t gone back that far, here’s a head’s up.

These Flowers Make It Cool To Be A Cancer

Many readers probably remember last year’s post about zodiac flowers for Cancers. Cancers are people with whose birthdays fall between June 21 and July 21. In my family, that’s a lot of people! What A Treasure, What A Gemini!

Geminis are fun people. Well, at least generally speaking. I have known and loved many a Gemini in my time and continue to fall in love with the unique personality each person has even though many Geminis share the same characteristics.

Born between May 21st and June 20th, Geminis are said to be talkative, energetic and intellectual. Yup, that’s spot on for most of the Geminis that I know. They can also be inconsistent, inquisitive, nervous and tense. Wow…that would be a bad day. I have an idea for curing those woes around their birthday this year. Send flowers! Forget A Birthday? Here’s A Cool Belated Birthday Gift

My brothers are hilarious. If you’ve ever seen the hit comedy series Frasier, picture Niles and Frasier at 25 and 23. Aaron (who turned 25 on the 4th of April) is finicky about his appearance, his preferences, his likes and dislikes. He plays the “big brother” role very well. Mark (my surrogate brother who is 8 days my senior) is also finicky but in very different ways. He’s a “go green” enthusiast, avid vegetarian, and soon-to-be father. Their byplay is priceless and merited a very fun belated birthday gift for Aaron.

Mark forgot Aaron’s birthday this year. Not sure how but it slipped his mind until the following Monday. My sister (22 on the 14th of April) was also forgotten briefly. Feeling horrible for forgetting Aaron’s birthday, Mark brought over the coolest gift ever. I couldn’t help but laugh. I only wish I’d taken a picture!

Aaron and Mark enjoy gardening. In lieu of some elaborate reparations, Mark brought over a packet of forget-me-not seeds and a small garden shovel. It was too cool! Ok, maybe it’s my warped sense of humor that made me laugh so much when I heard about this belated birthday gift. Something like this is always fun. If you have an equally wry sense of humor and just so happen to forget a birthday, call your local florist. I’m sure they can hook you up with some forget-me-nots for the occasion. Let’s hope you never need this belated birthday tip!
