Can you tell me what to do if my Luck Bamboo gets root rot? I had it planted in the vase I purchased it in and I noticed it was not doing well so I transplanted it to a bigger vase. When I moved it the smell was bad! Can this be saved?

If the roots have rotted, you will need to cut off the healthy tops and regrow them. Cut off each stalk inch above one of the nodes. The nodes are the raised rings that grow around the stalk. Dip the cuttings in rooting hormone. Let the rooting hormone dry then put in water. Be sure to use distilled water. You can use tap water but it must sit for 24hrs to let the chlorine evaporate before you can use it. Lucky bamboo likes to be crowded so use an appropriate vase size. Chances are the roots rotted due to over-fertilization or stagnate water. Change your water every week or so. Flower Shop Network has a wonderful newsletter about “Caring for Lucky Bamboo”. Hope this helps.
