Holiday Florals

Flowers are hands down the best way to express yourself during the holidays. Local florists create amazing designs and some will even come into your home and decorate for you to ensure your home looks how you’ve always dreamed.

Looking for some winter-themed decoration? Flowers and living plants fresh from your local florist can make it come alive and make every room look like a winter wonderland.

Loving Local

Your local florist is ready to make all your decorating dreams come true. All it takes is a phone call or walk-in to get the ball rolling. And even if budget is an issue, you’re sure to find something breathtakingly beautiful at a price you can afford.

And although buying local is wonderful because it supports your local community, that’s not the only or even necessarily best reason to do it. Your local florist is a talented flower artist. She will listen to what you want and how you want it done, and then she will make sure that happens! You can buy flowers anywhere, but when you buy local you’re buying the best.

Head down to your local flower shop or give them a call and schedule your holiday flowers today!

A Tamale Thanksgiving

Tired of the traditional Thanksgiving Turkey? Want to change up your holiday? At FSN Headquarters, we are celebrating the fall holiday with Tamales!

From Left: Irving Casiano, sister Miroslava Casiano, and Mrs. Casiano.

Made by the mother of our very own Irving and Miroslava Casiano, these deliciously homemade tamales come with different fillings like chicken, pork and beef, and different levels  of spicy sauce.

Dating back many years of Hispanic tradition, tamales are a great option if you are wanting to spice up your Thanksgiving meal!

Wearing her Flower Shop Network apron, Mrs. Casiano unloads bags upon bags of tamales for a mouthwatering FSN feast.

Consider this little change of holiday tradition for your Thanksgiving dinner. We certainly will be counting down the hours until lunch time and taking home leftovers too!

FSN Baby Shower: It’s A Boy!

We had yet another baby shower at the Flower Shop Network offices this week. (Man, there must be something in the water down here.) This time we pulled out the punch for Kylie who works in our administration department. The refreshments were delicious and the gifts were plentiful, so let’s take a look at all the goodies!

Blue punch, blue cake … It’s a BOY!

IMAG0149

Beautiful afghan handcrafted by our very own Loranne. Great job!

IMAG0145

Knit caps and some comfy-looking onesies. Gotta keep that winter baby warm.

IMAG0146

It’s bath time! A baby bather and wonderfully soft towels.

IMAG0151

You can never have too many bibs, that’s for sure. Babies go through those like water through a sieve. Or is that juice?

IMAG0154

An entire outfit, and looks like it will be big enough to start next winter off the right way.

IMAG0157

Will this be grandma’s favorite outfit? Nana, nana, nana, nana … Batman!

IMAG0161

It’s hard to tell, but that is a combo crib, playpen and changing table all in one. Wow!

IMAG0139

Congratulations Kylie!

We’re not done yet, folks. We’ve got plenty more events scheduled between now and the end of the year. Check back tomorrow for our Thanksgiving feast!

Give Thanks with Flowers

Flowers not only make for amazing decoration, they are also a fantastic way to say thank you. And what else is Thanksgiving Day for if not the giving of thanks to those who’ve helped make our lives better throughout the year? This year, give thanks with the beauty of flowers!

A Variety of Styles

There are floral arrangement possibilities beyond the traditional bouquet, though there’s nothing wrong with an elegant collection of breathtaking flowers gathered in a vase. After all, it became a tradition for a reason. But that’s not all you’ll find when you walk into your corner flower shop. You’ll see a world of creativity and wonder that has been designed and created by your own local flower artists.

Keeping It Local

Local florists mean face-to-face interaction and the opportunity to buy exactly what you want. This personal touch gives you the freedom to personalize your arrangement, affording you the opportunity to truly be specific to the person you choose. And you’ll never find the same quality, care and attention you get at the corner flower shop anywhere else.

Another great reason to use a local florist? It keeps money in the local economy and helps to ensure they’ll be there the next time you need them!

This Thanksgiving Day, if you want to say thank you in the most beautiful way possible, say thank you with flowers.

All the Right Words for Your Thanksgiving Flowers

Thanksgiving Day, as the name suggests, is a day to give thanks for all the blessings from the past year. What better way to offer thanks to those who’ve given you help and support throughout the year than with a gorgeous floral arrangement? And with every gift of flowers there is a blank card just waiting to be filled out. Here are five suggestions to help you express your love and appreciation.

DIYers, Florists & Flowers – Creating Amazing Holiday Decor

You have the stuffing, the pumpkin pie and the turkey. What’s missing? Seasonal decorations to enhance your holiday table. This year, use the only simple Thanksgiving table decoration that achieves the ultimate in holiday decor: flowers!

Do It Yourself Flowers (With A Little Help)

Thanksgiving Table Decorations

When creating your own table decor, you can find decorations and flowers at your local florist. But flowers aren’t the only items you can purchase from your florist. You can also find fun and colorful accessories, like gourds, berries and other seasonal options like cornucopia baskets or pumpkin-shaped vases. Whatever matches the rest of your decor, your florist can help you find what you need. When it comes to DIY and table decorations, they will be happy to help you as much or as little as you want.

Tip: Make sure to meet with your florist ahead of time so they can offer suggestions and advice on your decorating ideas.

Holiday Decoration Ideas

Vintage wheat table decor

Draw inspiration from your own backyard. Gather fallen leaves, pinecones and greenery to add to the fall-colored daisies, lilies and bright sunflowers provided by your local florist. Thistles and berries are good autumn elements that intensify the “pulled from the garden” look. For a rustic down-home effect, try putting all of your flowers in a decorative clay pot.

A bundle of barley or wheat wrapped in shiny copper wire can also look very autumnal sitting on plates or arranged with your tablescape flower offerings. Make sure to shake the loose bits out before using the grains on the table, or you’ll end up with a bit of a mess. Don’t forget the chrysanthemum!

Used by itself as a potted plant or as cut flowers in a centerpiece arrangement, this flower is the epitome of fall and Thanksgiving.

You Don’t Have To Do It Alone

Creating your own Thanksgiving table decor doesn’t mean you can’t rely on the experts for help. Your local florist can provide the quality flowers and expert advice you need to wow your guests this Thanksgiving holiday.

With a little help and before you know it, there’ll be a fall flower extravaganza to go with the bounty already on your table.
